About LockIn
▸What is LockIn?
LockIn is a study app for students that turns focus into a game. You name the task you're avoiding, start a timed focus session, and earn XP, levels and a daily streak for the work you actually finish.
▸Do I need an account to use it?
No. The timer, task prioritisation and Panic Mode work immediately and your progress is stored on your device. An account adds cloud backup and the global leaderboard, and your local progress is carried over when you sign up.
▸Is LockIn free?
Yes, the core app is free: focus sessions, Panic Mode, the study timer, exam countdown, attendance calculator, typing test and click speed test. Free accounts can start 2 focus sessions per day.
▸What does Pro include?
Pro removes the daily session limit and unlocks the GPA calculator, grade calculator and final grade calculator. It's €3.99 per month or €39.99 per year.
Studying, focus and XP
▸How does the focus timer work?
Pick a session length — 15, 25, 45 or 60 minutes, or a custom length — and the timer runs fullscreen. When it reaches zero the session counts and XP is awarded.
▸What happens if I stop a session early?
Nothing is awarded. XP only lands when the block finishes, which is what keeps the numbers honest.
▸How is XP calculated?
Two XP per focused minute: 15 min = 30 XP, 25 min = 50 XP, 45 min = 90 XP, 60 min = 120 XP. XP adds up into levels.
▸How do streaks work?
One completed session a day keeps your streak alive, with milestone badges at 3, 7, 14, 30, 60 and 100 days. Miss a day and the streak resets.
▸How does LockIn decide what I should do first?
Each task is scored from three inputs — how close the deadline is, how difficult it is (1–5) and how confident you feel (1–10) — and labelled LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH or URGENT, with a suggested number of study blocks. The same inputs always produce the same result.
▸What is Panic Mode?
Panic Mode is for when the exam is close and nothing is done. You enter your topics, the hours you have left and your confidence, and it produces a timed block plan for the time that's actually available.
Account, data and billing
▸How is the leaderboard ranked?
By XP earned during the current week, so a good week can move you up regardless of your all-time total.
▸What data does LockIn store?
Without an account, everything stays in your browser's local storage. With an account, your profile and completed sessions sync to your account so they survive clearing your browser. See the privacy notice for details.
